A New Year's Eve Wish
In the woods I gathered, wandered
Til my day I had all but squandered
Searching for a Fairy's Light
My heavy burden to make fairly light.
She came to me on leaf of oak.
Into my heart she softly spoke.
She blessed me with a secret kiss.
She granted me my purest wish.
I wished for something sweet and true.
For something old but also new.
I wished for flowers
moss and dew.
